Business is going from strength to strength for thriving Durham based firm, Workwear Express.
The company – which specialises in providing quality workwear, uniforms and promotional clothing to more than 30,000 clients across the world – has celebrated its expansion by relocating to larger premises.
The move to the purpose built 20,000 square foot factory has seen the firm review its business needs, including how it caters to a thirsty workforce of more than 50 people.
Already a longstanding customer of neighbouring business, MIW, Workwear Express is once again reaping the benefits of a new water cooler.
“This is an exciting time for us,”explains Andrew Ward, Managing Director of Workwear Express.
Andrew founded the company in 1990 from the back of his trusty van. Now, more than 20 years later, the company has grown significantly, both in size and location.
“We’re working from a new site and it’s a wider scale operation. We needed a new water cooler to adapt to our changing environment,” he says.
Connecting with customers
Andrew wanted a machine that would be both cost effective and convenient; while continuing to provide his staff with a regular supply of fresh drinking water.
MIW understood Andrew’s requirements and provided a simple solution. When Andrewupscaled his business premises, MIW replaced his existing bottled floor standing water cooler with a new floor standing plumbed water dispenser.
MIW connected the plumbed unit directly into the factory’s mains water feed, which saved Workwear Express both time and money.
And Andrew and his team haven’t looked back.
He says: “We’re delighted with the new plumbed machine. It was fitted in a matter of minutes and there was no disruption whatsoever.
“MIW are great to work with. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly, they’re competitively priced and offer a first class after sales service.”
The plumbed floor standing water cooler is just part of the wide range of high quality water coolers and drinking fountains supplied across the UK by MIW Office Solutions.
The advantage of plumbed water coolers over bottled water units is that they use existing mains water supplies. Machines can cater to larger numbers of people, without the need to store or to budget for additional stocks of water. Therefore, plumbed water coolers are often the preferred practical and financial option.
A fluid approach
In recent years, there has been a rise in the number of businesses investing in water cooler machines as employers and staff become more committed to health and wellbeing in the workplace.
MIW’s successful partnership with Workwear Express began eight years ago after Andrew Ward’s employees requested a healthy alternative to tea, coffee and fizzy drinks.
Andrew says: “We value our team and we listened to their needs. Therefore, it was important to us to give them access to fresh drinking water at all times.
Thanks to MIW, our staff can simply grab a cool drink whenever they want. It’s good for them and it’s good for us. Teamwork is definitely the key to our success!”
MIW prides itself on building and maintaining solid relationships with clients. Interpreting customers’ needs and adapting to the business landscape is at the core of the firm’s mission.
Sales Director Trevor Humble says: “We’re dedicated to providing the best possible service to customers and to meeting individual business needs. In this case, we worked closely with Workwear Express to support their requirements.”
He adds: “The longevity of this partnership is testament to our experience and expertise, and to the fact that we remain versatile and customer focussed throughout. We look forward to working with Workwear Express for many years to come!”
